Abstract:

The superconductor state is discussed from the point of view of the behavior of its low energy degrees of freedom. The condensation and dilution of such degrees of freedom guide the construction of the corresponding effective field theory. After the discussion of the superconductor as a topological state of matter, a framework for the description of more general topological superconductors through effective field theories is presented.
