Seminários do Departamento de Física Aplicada - Título: "Freestanding nanomembranes as building blocks for the research at the DFA”
Quarta-feira, Junho 07, 2017, 16:00

Palestrante:

Prof. Dr. Christoph Friedrich Deneke (UNICAMP/IFGW/DFA)

Abstract:

Freestanding semiconductor nanomembranes form a class of emerging advanced 2D materials receiving great attention over the last decade. Nanomembranes were used to form 3D self-assembling nano-objects like tubes, ribbons and freestanding fingers from a great variety of materials as well as found a huge field of application as building blocks in flexible electronics.

In this seminar, I will provide an overview about my activities in this field focusing on results obtained here in Brazil. I will emphasis on membrane overgrowth activities enabled by the new created molecular beam epitaxy facility at the LNNano/CNPEM. Beside the overgrowth of membranes, I will to discuss our first results of reestablishing rolled-up tubes as optical resonators.

Finally, using this results as bases, I would like to discuss the planned activities inside the DFA and IFGW. This includes the planned activities of fabricating rolled-up tubes as optical resonators containing mesoscopic GaAs structures as quantum emitters, semiconductor membrane and release for potential application in flexible electronics as well as graphene transfer for remote epitaxy.
