Professor Larry Lessard, from McGill University in Montreal, Canada, works in the field of composite materials recycling. In this talk, he will present his recent projects on recycling and sustainability, with particular emphasis on the reuse and recycling of fiberglass materials from decommissioned wind turbine blades.

In 2022–2023, Professor Lessard completed a round-the-world cycling journey, covering nearly 23,000 km across 20 countries and giving talks at 30 universities to promote sustainability in composite materials. The journey was also documented as part of Project Bike62. Since January 2026, he has been cycling across South America, starting from Ushuaia, while continuing his mission to raise awareness about sustainability, materials recycling, and environmental responsibility.
