Calibration of astrophysical spectrographs are critical for exoplanet science and for the next generation of giant telescopes. Laser frequency combs, or “astrocombs”, can be used for calibration purposes on spectrographs mounted on large telescopes and have been gaining considerable interest due to the high line frequency stability and uniform spacing. This workshop will bring together astronomers and experts in technologies related to “astrocombs”, aiming to discuss requirements, limitations, advances, and architectures for the next generation of these unique instruments and, in particular, for an astrocomb for the Giant Magellan Telescope.
